Every listing in our directory is checked against primary certification databases — NADCA, CSIA, ABVP, I-CAR, EVITP, and state licensing boards — so you can see which local providers actually hold the credentials they advertise.

What We Do

GetLocalVerified is an independent directory that verifies local service providers against their actual certifications, licenses, and professional credentials. We check primary sources — not just what businesses claim about themselves.

When a business says it's "NADCA-certified" or "board-certified in exotic animal medicine," we verify that claim directly with the issuing organization. If the claim doesn't hold up, that's documented transparently on the relevant page.

How It Works

Our verification process follows five steps for every provider we list:

  1. Identify relevant certification bodies. For each service category, we determine the authoritative credentialing organizations — NADCA, CSIA, ABVP, HRSA, state licensing boards, and others.
  2. Verify each provider against primary databases. We check the actual member directories, certification lookup tools, and licensing portals maintained by those organizations.
  3. Cross-reference reviews, complaints, and community endorsements. We analyze patterns across Google, Yelp, BBB, and industry-specific platforms to identify consistent issues or strong track records.
  4. Assign transparent trust tiers. Each provider is classified into a published tier based on their verified credentials and community standing. The criteria are documented on every city page.
  5. Publish and maintain. Directories are published as static pages with structured data, then monitored for credential changes, closures, and new entrants on an ongoing basis.

What Makes Us Different

  • Primary-source verification. We check the actual NADCA member directory, CSIA certified sweep search, ABVP diplomate finder, state dental licensing portals, and other authoritative databases — not business websites or self-reported claims.
  • We document fraud and spam. Fake listings, expired certifications displayed as current, and misleading credential claims are flagged and documented, not ignored.
  • Transparent tier system. Every ranking criterion is published. You can evaluate our methodology and disagree with our conclusions.
  • No paid placements. Businesses cannot pay to be listed or ranked higher. There are no sponsored results, promoted listings, or pay-to-play arrangements of any kind.

Independence

GetLocalVerified is maintained by a small editorial team. We have no financial relationships with any listed business. We do not accept advertising, affiliate commissions, or sponsored content.

Our only revenue consideration is building a trustworthy resource. We believe that long-term credibility requires complete independence from the businesses we evaluate.
